AEQUANIMITAS– “A balanced spiritual state of wisdom and self control, acquired only through a lifetime of enlightened truth seeking.”This, is the goal of a life well lived. We, have attained it. Others, have not.
Just look at this brief video which has come to us from … shall we say the name? Would it make his insouciance worse? From … ROSCOE.
Presumably, this is a foppish response to our February 15 BLOG about the Great Winter Storm; a response meant to mock us; to anger us. BUT THIS HAS NOT WORKED!We feel NO ANGER toward this troubled young man; none whatsoever.
It is not his fault, what he is doing. Had he been brought up better, he would not feel the need to depreciate his betters, in order to make himself feel good. But, one can tell by looking at him, that he was brought up …soft, as are so many of our young people now in the West. Just look at him:
He waddles, instead of striding forward.
He shamelessly wears a woman’s coat, which doesn’t fit.
He constantly looks back for the approval of the Mother Goddess.
He has no modesty as to his underlying nakedness.
SWUSHY. This young man is SWUSHY.
Since we are a children's’ book author, we cannot help but speculate as to the books of ROSCOE’s youth. No doubt, he was raised on stories of anxious choo choo trains, uncertain whether they could make their daily runs; on stories of small lambs rendered psychotic by separation from the flock; on vignettes of talking spiders incapable of facing the winter storms. Yes. Yes. The winter storms are coming, and we have raised a generation of children who are not ready.
But there is hope. Our book, Bedtime Stories That Will Terrify Children, is a children's’ book to take the measure of our times.
The eight stories of the Bedtime Stories book pick up the great tensions of the times; of courage versus fear; of heroism versus cowardice; of love versus solipsism. There are animals in the stories; there are children; there are foolish grownups; there are spirits from the ancient past; even the Warrier Indian is there, doomed to ride the Ghost Ship of the northern lakes until the end of time.
What are the unswushy qualities which we seek to inculcate in the children through identifications with such characters?
There are many. But we must return to them later, since we are out of space for this BLOG..
